This country has an export which rivals all others – the Great British Education. People from every corner of the globe are clamouring to get their children into a UK school, or one of the many UK school outposts from Hong Kong to Sao Paulo, Brazil. We know because the rate of applicants to school places has grown exponentially in the past ten years along with the demand for tutors. Such scarcity of places has spawned a boom in homeschooling. According to one study, home education in the UK has increased by 130% in the last seven years. I actively considered homeschooling myself, when our daughter’s secondary school threatened to send her packing if her GCSE scores did not match their expectations.

Meanwhile, world-wide tuition fees continue to rise, although university fees in the UK are dwarfed by those in the United States. Such costs and the advances in technology have motivated American universities such as the Ivy League University of Pennsylvania and the Dartmouth Tuck School of Business to roll out a fully online degree, while Harvard and some of the others offer degrees partially online. Stanford University has even founded a completely online secondary school, Stanford Online High School, although fees still reach $25,000 US per year.

With these educational changes in mind, Chelsea and Fulham Tutors are delighted to announce that we have partnered with an international online learning platform designed for homeschooling – CambriLearn. CambriLearn provides students with a comprehensive hybrid tutoring solution combining interactive technology and full-time teachers. This platform includes detailed course materials, live online lessons, and marked assignments with personal feedback. There is a built-in Student Tracker that provides students with deep analytics into progress and performance across the board. As CambriLearn is focused on online instruction, it is specifically designed to be more affordable than other options

The CambriLearn educational support solution covers Pre-Primary (Learning to Read) through to comprehensive GCSE, IGCSE and A-Levels. All of the major educational boards are supported, inclusive of CIE, Edexcel, AQA and OCR, for the core subjects of English, Maths and Science, along with Economics, History and Business Studies among others.
